Registered Support at Home provider
Support at Home, made simple.
Support at Home is the government program that funds care at home for older Australians. We’ll explain how it works, help you make the most of your budget and give you a nurse-led team you get to know.

What is Support at Home?
Support at Home is the Australian Government’s program for older people who need help to keep living independently at home. It started on 1 November 2025 and replaced Home Care Packages and Short-Term Restorative Care.
If you had a Home Care Package, you moved across to Support at Home automatically. Your services can continue with the people you already know.
The program has three parts:
- Ongoing services for everyday support, funded through one of eight funding levels (called classifications).
- Short-term pathways: the Restorative Care Pathway to help you regain strength and independence, and the End-of-Life Pathway for people who want to be cared for at home in their last months.
- Assistive Technology and Home Modifications (AT-HM), for equipment like mobility aids and alarms, and changes to your home such as rails and ramps.
The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) is separate and continues until at least 30 June 2029. If you receive CHSP services today, nothing changes for now.
Funding levels
After your aged care assessment, you’re given one of eight classifications. Each comes with a quarterly budget to spend on services. The higher your needs, the higher your classification.
| Classification | Quarterly budget | Yearly budget |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | $2,757.89 | $11,031.56 |
| Level 2 | $4,120.89 | $16,483.55 |
| Level 3 | $5,645.23 | $22,580.93 |
| Level 4 | $7,632.04 | $30,528.15 |
| Level 5 | $10,202.32 | $40,809.27 |
| Level 6 | $12,365.48 | $49,461.91 |
| Level 7 | $14,944.20 | $59,776.80 |
| Level 8 | $20,073.50 | $80,294.00 |

How your budget works
- 10% of each quarterly budget pays for care management. That’s the planning, coordination and regular check-ins from your Care Partner, at least once a month.
- If you don’t spend your whole budget, you can carry over up to $1,000 or 10% of your quarterly budget, whichever is higher, into the next quarter.
- If you moved across from a Home Care Package with unspent funds, those funds are kept in a separate account. You can use them for equipment and home modifications, or for services once your quarterly budget is used up. They move with you if you change provider.
What you might pay
The government funds most of the cost. Depending on your situation, you may pay a contribution towards some services. Services Australia works out your contribution rate based on your pension status, income and assets.
| Your situation | Clinical care | Independence | Everyday living |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full Age Pension | 0% | 5% | 17.5% |
| Part pension or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card | 0% | 5% to 50% | 17.5% to 80% |
| Self-funded retiree, no card | 0% | 50% | 80% |
- Clinical care includes nursing, physiotherapy and other allied health, care management, and, from 1 October 2026, personal care such as showering, dressing and continence support. You pay nothing towards these.
- Independence services include transport, social support and respite.
- Everyday living services include cleaning, gardening, shopping and meal preparation.
If you had a Home Care Package before 12 September 2024, or were on the waitlist or assessed as eligible by then, the “no worse off” rule applies. You won’t pay more than you would have under the old program. If you weren’t paying an income-tested care fee, you won’t pay contributions at all.
Contributions are capped over your lifetime. The cap is $140,652.80 as at 20 September 2026 and is updated twice a year.
Our prices for every service, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, are on our pricing page. Our hourly and per-trip prices include administration and travel. The only separate fees are for arranging equipment and home modifications, and goods such as equipment and dressings are charged at supplier cost.

Common questions
Do I have to pay for personal care?
No. From 1 October 2026, personal care such as showering, dressing and continence support is fully funded by the government, as long as it’s approved in your support plan and you have funds available.
Do I pay anything towards care management?
No. Care management is paid from the 10% of your budget set aside for it. Providers can’t ask you to contribute to it.
I had a Home Care Package. What happens to my unspent funds?
They’re kept in a separate account in your name. You can use them for equipment and home modifications, or for services once your quarterly budget is used up. They move with you if you change provider.
Can my family help organise my care?
Yes. Many of the people we support have a son, daughter or other family member involved. With your permission, we’ll keep them informed and include them in planning.
Do you provide the Restorative Care and End-of-Life Pathways?
Yes, both. End of life care is a core service for us, led by our palliative care nurses. Read about the Restorative Care Pathway and end of life care at home.
